Bio
Marjan Alaghmand received her Ph.D. from University of Maryland, College Park in chemistry. She was a postdoctoral research associate at chemistry department (analytical chemistry division) at Purdue University. During her postdoctoral research, she collaborated with numbers of scientists at University of Michigan Ann Arbor, Indiana University, University of Wisconsin Madison and State University of New York and did extensive research on atmospheric chemistry, air pollution and its health and environmental impacts.

After her post doctoral research, she worked as a scientist in pharmaceutical industry to develop cancer vaccine and taught at different colleges and Universities such as University of Maryland College park, George Mason University, Northern Virginia Community College and Howard University. She is currently one of the full time faculty members at American University. She has taught general chemistry I and II lectures and labs, chemistry of cooking and instrumental analysis courses.
