Dr. Jason Hacker received his doctorate in counseling psychology from Loyola University Chicago. He currently works as a Staff Clinician at American University Counseling Center where he provides individual and group psychotherapy using an integrative, interpersonal, psychodynamic, and systems approach. His other responsibilities at the center include crisis intervention, outreach, consultation, and the clinical supervision of graduate student clinicians. Prior to coming to AU, Dr. Hacker completed a pre-doctoral internship at the University of Illinois Counseling Center. His graduate clinical training included positions at two college counseling centers and a hospital outpatient clinic in Chicago. Dr. Hacker has also coauthored five peer reviewed journal articles in the areas of career development and multicultural psychology. Special interests include men and masculinity, group therapy, alcohol and substance abuse, technology addiction, social identity development, and clinical training.
