Julia obtained two BAs; English Teaching and English-Spanish Translation at the Instituto Superior del Profesorado No. 8 in the city of Santa Fe, Argentina.
She held an English for Specific Purposes teaching position at the Red Cross School of Higher Education in Esperanza, Argentina for three years, and has been a freelance translator since 2007.
In 2013, she came to the US to pursue a MA in Foreign Languages in West Virginia University, after which she worked as an Interpreter, Translator & Cultural Mediator at a Connecticut Children's Medical Center in Connecticut, and then as the Translation Project Manager of the Translation & Interpreting Office at the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley.
Since August 2017, she serves as an Instructor of Spanish and Translation in American University. Since Fall 2018, Julia is also the Director of the Graduate Certificate in Spanish Translation, and she is currently attending a Master’s Program in Spanish as a Foreign Language Teaching at the Universidad Internacional Meléndez Pelayo in Santander, Spain.
