This production of Rashomon is a new adaptation of the classic Japanese stories that interrogate the nature of truth and justice. The play presents contradictory accounts of a single horrific crime from a bystander and three individuals directly involved in the event. The work will incorporate elements of the original short stories by Ryunosuke Akutagawa, the older folk tales upon which those stories were based, and the stories of the cast itself—specifically the way campus crimes affect a community.
