Mathematics Equivalency Exam

The Mathematics Equivalency Exam is open to transfer students who have successfully completed a Mathematics or Statistics course prior to transferring to American University. It is given in the three subject areas of Finite Mathematics, Applied Calculus and Basic Statistics. Transfer students who pass the exam fulfill the Mathematics Requirement of the university.

The exam is scheduled for the second Wednesdays of Fall and Spring semester as stated in the Academic Calendar of the university. Time and location of the exam are announced before the semester begins.

Transfer students who choose to take this exam need to register by the Monday before the exam with Dr. Behzad Jalali at .

Please note: Transfer students can take this exam one time and only during their first semester at AU. Sample questions for reviewing the exam material are also posted.
