Meltzer/SCAN Construction Mobilization Begins February 28, 2024
Construction work began on Monday, February 26 for the upcoming Meltzer/SCAN project. Please see the updates and attached images below:
- Construction Updates
- Fencing was installed around the perimeter of the tennis courts and current Annex building. Please view “Construction Transportation Plan” below to view plans of fenced area.
- Traffic Implications
- No major traffic concern is expected over the next 2 weeks. The contractor will be utilizing the paths highlighted in the “Construction Transportation Plan” to access the construction site.
- Other Issues
- The neighborhood access gate located at the intersection of University Ave. and Rodman St. NW will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 28th at 7pm to prevent access to the construction area. Community members can still utilize the gate at the intersection of University Ave and Quebec St. to access campus.
- Upcoming work
- Demolition of the current Annex building is projected to begin the week of March 18th or 25th, 2024. Another update will be shared when the date is finalized.
