Construction work began on Monday, February 26 for the upcoming Meltzer/SCAN project. Please see the updates and attached images below:

• Construction Updates
  • Fencing was installed around the perimeter of the tennis courts and current Annex building. Please view “Construction Transportation Plan” below to view plans of fenced area. 

• Traffic Implications
  • No major traffic concern is expected over the next 2 weeks. The contractor will be utilizing the paths highlighted in the “Construction Transportation Plan” to access the construction site. 

• Other Issues
  • The neighborhood access gate located at the intersection of University Ave. and Rodman St. NW will be closed on Wednesday, Feb. 28^th at 7pm to prevent access to the construction area. Community members can still utilize the gate at the intersection of University Ave and Quebec St. to access campus.

• Upcoming work 
  • Demolition of the current Annex building is projected to begin the week of March 18^th or 25^th, 2024. Another update will be shared when the date is finalized.
