Apply for Financial Aid: Continuing Undergraduate
Continuing undergraduate students must reapply for financial aid each year.
The FAFSA should be completed online at www.fafsa.ed.gov by the priority deadline of May 1 for AU need based financial aid consideration.
No, merit recipients do not need to complete a FAFSA to keep their scholarships. They only need to have met AUs satisfactory academic progress (SAP) requirements in the previous academic year.
In general, returning students who have filed a FAFSA on time and have submitted any requested documents are able to view their packages on their AU portals by July 1st.
The financial aid office evaluates a student's financial aid eligibility each year. Provided that students financial circumstances remain relatively the same, our office will make every effort to ensure consistency in student financial aid awards. Families should complete the FAFSA each year by the prescribed financial aid deadlines for maximum consideration of aid. However, if your family financial circumstances change significantly from year to year this could affect your aid package during the next academic year. Increases in income, and decrease in the number of students attending college may affect financial aid eligibility
