Priority registration is staggered based on the student class level. Within each identified segmented population, students are randomly assigned a registration appointment time in 30-minute intervals. Doctoral students register first, followed by other graduate students. Undergraduate students are grouped into registration appointment time groups by the number of credits they have completed by the census date. The groupings of credits can be found on the Registrar's website under Registration (http://www.american.edu/provost/registrar/registrationdates.cfm).
