What measures are in place to alleviate overcrowding of the shuttle bus?
Periodic adjustments are made to the number of buses servicing individual routes, based on the information gathered during our quarterly Transportation Operations review of ridership trends. Three main aspects are included in the review:
- Registrar classroom schedules - location and start and stop times of scheduled classes
- Special events requiring additional shuttle resources
- TransLoc Ridership Reports indicating passenger count for specific stops
- Feedback from staff, faculty and students
How do I contact shuttle operations with questions and comments?
- e-mail: shuttle@american.edu
- Transloc app - riderapp: under settings, select "How was your ride?", enter e-mail and comment.
Why won't the driver stop for me after the bus leaves the stop - even if the bus is a few feet from the stop?
AU shuttle drivers are trained to consider safety first. Shuttle stop locations have been chosen carefully to minimize the possibility for accidents. As per policy, they will not stop anywhere else.
