Frequently Asked Questions

Students, faculty and staff can register their bicycle by visiting then visiting the University Police building to pick up your decal. You must bring your AU ID in order to pick up your decal. For additional questions call 202.885.2527 or stop by the University Police building between the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m., Monday through Friday.


In order to grant students temporary access to a building, an email from a professor or written confirmation of a room request is required. For semester access, please have your professor e-mail us, and access will be provided on the student's ID card.

Faculty or Staff Members

An email from a department supervisor or director detailing permission is required to grant access.

Call University Police's emergency line at (202) 885-3636 and Police officers will respond and evaluate your condition. If they determine your condition is a medical emergency, District of Columbia Fire Department will be contacted to assess you and determine whether a hospital transport is necessary. If this is this case, you will be transported by ambulance to the hospital.

Community members may also call University Police at (202) 885-2527 to speak with a Dispatcher who will provide a cab voucher to Sibley Memorial Hospital.
