When I joined the American University family, I knew I was exactly where I was meant to be.
  
Over the past two years, I’ve learned that AU students feel the same way. Our students are eager for the unique education and experience that only AU can offer. They exhibit the same passion for service, for creating meaningful change, that every Eagle shares.
 
Today, I write you at a pivotal moment in American University’s history.
 
This moment is the product of our momentum. Together we are prepared to lead in scholarship, research, and learning. With your help, we can seize this opportunity to expand our scholarly influence, serve as a model for inclusion, innovation, and inspiration, and most importantly, enhance the student experience.
 
Our students are at the heart of all that we do. To be a successful student-centered university, we must ensure that an American University education is accessible to all those engaged, talented, and high performing students who will not only succeed at AU but use their education to advance our world.

Alyssa’s aid was a game changer. Not only did it allow her to choose AU, it opened the door to opportunities beyond AU’s campus. From competing in our nationally ranked mock trial team to interning in Congress, her experiences are preparing her to deliver an impact on our rapidly changing world. By removing financial barriers, we cast a vote of confidence in students like Alyssa. We show them that they have what it takes to succeed.
