Since the launch of the 5-Year Strategic Plan, the AU community has been focused on Scholarship, Learning, and Community. This work is challenging, and we are proud that the AU students, faculty and staff have all been influential in its implementation.

  1. Ticket is good for use in Continental U.S. (including Alaska, offered seasonally), Canada and Mexico. It includes U.S. transcontinental but excludes Hawaii, Puerto Rico or other U.S. territories.
  2. Award is valid only on American Airlines and American Eagle flights.
  3. Travel must be booked by 12/13/2019 and must be used within one year of the booking date.
  4. All taxes and fees, assessed at the time of ticketing, are the responsibility of the passenger.
  5. Class: Main Cabin.
  6. The value of the awards will be taxable income to the faculty, staff or student who wins them. Winners will be required to submit a printout of the travel confirmation that includes the flight’s value and forward to Nicole Bresnahan in the Controller’s Office controllersoffice@american.edu. The value of the flight will be recorded on either Form W-2 or 1099 (in cases of student winners).

How to Enter

Faculty • Staff • Students

  1. To be eligible to participate in the raffle, you must be an active full- or part-time faculty, staff or student at the time of the drawing on November 21, 2019.
  2. No purchase necessary to enter.
  3. Your AU ID number must be included on your raffle ticket.
  4. Only one entry per person per event. However, you may attend multiple events to enter the raffle more than once.
  5. Faculty, staff and students may enter the raffle at several upcoming health and wellness events planned for the months of October and November.
  6. Drawing will close on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at 4pm EST.
  7. 14 winners will be randomly selected from the valid entries on Thursday, November 21. Four (4) round trip airline tickets to be awarded to faculty, four (4) round trip airline tickets to be awarded to staff, and six (6) round trip airline tickets to be awarded to students.
  8. One airline ticket per winner.
  9. Winners will be notified by Friday, November 22 and provided with details on how to book their flights.
