Kogod Decision Criteria: I chose to attend Kogod School of Business because while it is globally focused, it is heavily involved with the DC community. As a current and future D.C. resident, it was important for me to find a program that allows me to regularly engage with the DC community and its extensive network of nearby alumni. Its small-sized program structure is also a huge benefit and allows for more personal interactions with students and faculty. I could sense this personal approach at my interview with the graduate admissions staff -- that was when I knew that Kogod was the right place for me. Most of all, I love Kogod’s commitment to the belief that profit and purpose are not at odds which align with my professional beliefs and goals.
Kogod Value: Some of my favorite aspects of the KSB experience are its full integration of academics, applicable management skill training, and focus on individual career assessment and aspirations. Every aspect that is important to being a successful leader is incorporated throughout the curriculum and reinforced through personal career guidance, the approachability and accessibility of the faculty, and frequent alumni visits at events--including our Graduate Business Association “Coffee with Kogod” events where we can interact with Kogod alumni business leaders on a regular basis. What I love most though, is the close-knit, yet diverse, community within Kogod and the support we receive on every level.
