About The Conference

Since the Fourth Sovereign Wealth Funds (“SWFs”) Conference at American University in October 2017, the world has been subject to changes in the economic conditions including lower than usual oil prices, a greater push by oil-producing countries to focus on diversification, and an addition of different type of levies (value added among others), on their citizens. Fintech is expanding in the financial space and it will have an impact on the way SWFs are going to conduct their activities. There is a new trend in investing in the emerging markets, is it a long-term trend? Also, how is the move to diversifications in some countries going to impact SWFs of the world? The proposed fifth international conference (“Conference”) is planned to address these issues and assess how these global changes are impacting SWFs, all in the context of Sovereign Wealth Funds in the 21st Century.
