Take the next step in your career at Washington, DC's first business school

Kogod’s Master of Science in Finance (MSF) program offers numerous opportunities to gain real-world experience, helping you develop skills essential for a successful career.

Gain hands-on experience while you:

  • Manage $500K in assets and develop your portfolio management skills with Kogod’s Student Management Investment Fund.
  • Prepare for the CFA, CAIA, CFP or FRM exam through the program’s structured and skills-based curriculum.
  • Receive valuable professional opportunities with the program’s membership to the CFA Society. Attend chapter networking events, workshops and trainings.

Real-World Preparation

In the real world, it’s important to know how to apply what you’ve learned.

For Jamal Carnette, MSF ’17, the program’s focus on experiential learning was especially impactful. Carnette worked with real-world financial applications like Bloomberg and Thomson Reuters, completed hands-on projects in class and even worked with the student-managed investment fund.

He also credits his professors with fostering this challenging, yet nurturing, environment. “They push you, but are all personally invested in your success,” Carnette says.

Carnette graduated last Spring with his cohort and a crowd of other AU master’s candidates. Jamal is starting as a Senior Communications Investment Specialist at ICMA-RC, but admits he will miss his academic home at Kogod.
