Residential Graduate Orientation

Welcome, new graduate students!

This website provides information orientation programming for Kogod's residential (on-campus) graduate students. If you are a new student in one of our online progreams, contact for information about orientation and onboarding.

Introducing new residential students to the on-campus Kogod community is an important part of the academic experience. Kogod staff create experiences for incoming residential students that prepare them for the classroom and also welcome them to our community.

On-Campus Orientation Program MS Students (including Bachelors-Masters

For students beginning in the fall semester, orientation programming is different for each program but typically takes place on the Friday or Saturday before classes begin.

For students beginning in the spring semester, a half-day program on the Saturday before classes begin will introduce students to the resources and staff in Kogod who will assist them over the course of their studies.

MBA Students (including dual-degree)

MBA orientation is a multi-day program before classes begin in August. Students will be introduced to their advisor, the Office of Career Engagement, and more. View the Onboarding Guide linked on the right of this page.


International Student Orientation by ISSS

The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) will hold an orientation designed specifically for international students. Visit the ISSS website for more information.


Online Orientation

Prior to your arrival to campus, we encourage you to complete online orientation to help ensure you have a smooth transition to AU and you are prepared for life on campus. Sections include: Academics, Support Services, Life at AU, Financing Your Education, Policies & Safety, and a module specifically for Kogod graduate students about the Kogod-specific resources available to you. The orientation should take you about 30 minutes to complete and is available for you to refer back to at any time. Event for Bachelors-Masters students, this orientation is a helpful reminder of everything AU has to offer.
