Graduate Orientation

Welcome, new graduate students! This website provides information orientation programming for Kogod's on-campus graduate students. If you are a part of or interested in our online programs, contact admissions@onlinebusiness.american.edu

Introducing new students to the Kogod community is an imperative part of the academic experience. Kogod staff create experiences for incoming students that prepare them for the classroom and also welcome them to our community.

ON-CAMPUS ORIENTATION PROGRAMMING

MS Students (including Bachelors-Masters)

For students beginning in the fall semester, orientation programming is typically a day-long series of programs that include activities specific to each academic unit.

For students beginning in the spring semester, an evening program will introduce students to the resources and staff in Kogod who will assist them over the course of their studies.

MBA Students (including dual-degree)

MBA orientation is a three-day program beginning the Wednesday before classes begin in August. Students will be introduced to their advisor, Kogod Center for Career Development, and more. View the Getting Started Guide for more information.

International Student Orientation by ISSS

The Office of International Student & Scholar Services (ISSS) will hold an orientation designed specifically for international students. Visit the ISSS website for more information.

SUMMER ONLINE ORIENTATION

For students beginning their program in the Fall semester

Throughout July, Kogod will host a series of webinars about the offices and services available to our graduate student. More detailed information, including the dates and times of these webinars, will be sent to you by Andrew. If you're unable to attend the webinars when they are live, they will be recorded and posted on Blackboard to be accessed by everyone.
