AU’s School of Public Affairs to Host Executive Women in Government Summit
What:
American University’s School of Public Affairs and its Key Executive Leadership Program will host this year’s Executive Women in Government Annual Leadership Summit. The event will bring together current and former federal executives for a day of professional development workshops and panel discussions about the challenges and opportunities facing women executives across the federal government sector.

Background:
This year’s Executive Women in Government (EWG) Leadership Summit will include a series of panels and sessions designed for the attendees to engage with and learn from women leaders as they build their professional skills, consider career or agency changes, and advance their careers. It
will feature unique educational, mentoring, and networking opportunities. The attendees will hear from senior executive women in a variety of career areas including Communications, Counterterrorism, Diplomacy, Cyber, Cultural and Historical Preservation, Defense, Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion, and Science.
Executive Women in Government was founded in 1973 by the Honorable Barbara Franklin and other high-ranking women in government. Comprised of current and former members of the Senior Executive Service, the organization’s mission is to prepare, promote, support and mentor women for senior leadership positions in the federal government.
