"The Israeli Tent Movement and the Future of Israeli Democracy: 2011 to the Upcoming Elections"

Presented by Boaz Gaon. An interactive lecture with discussion on the evolution of the Israel social protest movement, from the summer of 2011 to the current pre-election season. Boaz Gaon is a leading Israeli playwright, journalist, and political activist, and has been one of the leaders of the Israeli social protest movement that began in 2011. He has been a correspondent for the Israeli newspaper Ma~ariv in London and New York, and is the author of numerous plays and books, including the play Return to Haifa and the book Where America Ends -- An Israeli in America, an account of his experiences as a correspondent in New York. His newest play, Boged (The Traitor), based on the Henrik Ibsen play An Enemy of the People, will be presented at Theater J in January 2013.
