Dear AU Community,

DC Mayor Bowser today announced new orders requiring a 14-day quarantine for anyone traveling for non-essential reasons to the District from areas of the country considered high-risk for spread of COVID-19. High risk areas are defined as locations where the seven-day moving average of daily new COVID-19 cases is 10 or more per 100,000 people. The DC Department of Health will publish an initial list of high-risk areas on Monday, July 27 and update the list every two weeks. This order applies to college students from these areas but does not include individuals entering DC from Maryland and Virginia.

We are reviewing the orders and determining appropriate next steps. Further information will be shared with the community in the coming days. Thank you for your support and patience as we navigate the changing COVID-19 landscape.

Sincerely,

Fanta Aw
Vice President of Campus Life & Inclusive Excellence
