Tuition Refund Plan

Student Information and Enrollment

With AWG Dewar Inc., the university has arranged a tuition refund plan for students and parents. This private insurance program enhances American University's published refund policy, helping minimize financial losses should students suffer serious illness or an accident that results in withdrawal from AU before the semester is completed. The insurance plan is elective and covers 75% of tuition and room charges.

The insurance plan is available to undergraduate, graduate, and law students. Full-time students will be prompted to enroll or decline coverage when they log into their myAU portal in May.

Part-time students and students whose classes begin after the traditional academic calendar can contact AWG Dewar Inc. to purchase coverage.


An application must be completed and submitted before the first day of classes.
