Interfaith Week

The Kay Interfaith Council is organizing Interfaith Week-a ten-day long exploration of the different faith communities that make up American University. Each of the communities participating in Interfaith Week makes a special effort to explain their service or program to visitors, with an eye toward visitors from other faith traditions. The entire schedule can be found below.

Sunday, February 5 : Dip into Interfaith Week!

  • 5:00 p.m. - United Methodists Question and Answer, informal service, Kay Lounge
  • 6:00 p.m. - The United Methodists and AU Interfaith Council Superbowl Viewing Party and chips and 'Dip into Interfaith Week' Party

Monday, February 6

  • 5:00 p.m. - Eastern Orthodox service and meal, Kay Chapel
  • 8:00 p.m. - Catholic Holy Hour, silent prayer and mediation, Kay Chapel

Tuesday, February 7

  • 3:00 p.m. - Mindful Eagles Lovingkindness Meditation, Kay Lounge
  • 6:15 p.m. - Episcopal evening prayer, Kay Chapel
  • 7:00 p.m. - Episcopal Discussion and Dinner, Kay Lounge
  • 8:00 p.m. - Interfaith Project Discussion, Kay Lounge

Wednesday, February 8

  • 4:00 p.m. - InterVarsity Graduate Student Meeting, SIS 349
  • 4:30 p.m. - Buddhist Insight Meditation, Kay Chapel
  • 6:30 p.m. - Yoga and Meditation (Hare Krishna Community), McKinley 305

Thursday, February 9

  • 8:15 p.m. - Chi Alpha Thursday Night Worship, Kay Chapel
  • 9:00 p.m. - Jewish Student Association Pancake Night, Kay Lounge
  • 11:00 p.m. - United Methodist Healing & Prayer Service, Kay Chapel

Friday, February 10

  • 1:15 p.m., 2:20 p.m. - Muslim Jummah Prayers (2 sessions), Kay Lounge
  • 6:00 p.m. - Jewish Shabbat Services, Kay Chapel
  • 7:15 p.m. - Hillel Shabbat Dinner, McDowell Formal Lounge

Sunday, February 12

  • 11:00 a.m. & 10 p.m. - Catholic Mass (two services), Kay Chapel

Tuesday, February 14
