Eagle Summit

Eagle Summit is American University's orientation program for first-year students who will be starting at AU in the fall, and is designed to welcome you and your guests to American University. During the Summit, you will learn about academics and campus life at American University, while meeting other new students. Your group will be led by a current AU student who will help you acclimate to the university. In addition to learning more about academics at AU, you will learn your way around campus, spend a night in a residence hall, take your AU ID Card picture and much, much more. By the time you leave the Summit, you will be well on your way to success. We can't wait to see you at one of our Summer or August Eagle Summit programs!

Eagle Summit Registration

Registration for Summer Eagle Summit is now open.

After you have submitted your enrollment deposit you will receive an email, to your AU email address, instructing you on how to register. The email will also include the link to access Eagle Summit registration. Note: It takes at least 48 hours after submitting your enrollment deposit for you to receive the registration email.

Note: First-Year International Students will not be able to register for Eagle Summit but will be required to attend the International Student Orientation which is run by International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS).

Summer Eagle Summit

Summer Eagle Summit sessions are two-day (overnight) programs, which give students the opportunity to experience campus, spend the night in a residence hall, and make connections with their peers prior to the start of the fall semester. The sessions are hosted in June and July.

2019 Summer Session Dates

  • Session 1: June 20-21
  • Session 2: June 24-25
  • Session 3: June 27-28

Students will be able to explore campus, learn about resources and make connections with their peers. Since the August Eagle Summit sessions occur during All-American Welcome, they do not include an overnight experience.
