First-Year Orientation Leader

The Orientation, Transition & Retention (OTR) office is seeking dedicated undergraduate leaders to assist with implementing all Eagle Summit programs for incoming first-year students. Eagle Summit is American University's two-day orientation program held in June, July, and August. First-Year Orientation Leaders will serve as a resource for first-year students, and get the opportunity to learn more about AU while developing skills to help them personally and professionally.

  1. Read all requirements and mandatory dates and ensure there are no conflicts. Requirements, qualifications, benefits, and mandatory dates can be found at
  2. Submit your application online using the following link: Your application must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018.
  3. For the position you will need two references. At least ONE of your references must be from a faculty or staff member. The other reference can come from a student leader (i.e. a Resident Assistant, former Orientation Leader, an organization leader, etc.). Your reference must submit the online form (link included at the end of the OL application) by 5:00 p.m. on Friday, January 26, 2018. We encourage you to speak with the person you plan to list prior to submitting your application, so they know to expect the email.
