Bio
Alexander attended Harvard University, where he majored in Social Studies with a focus in Urban Sociology. He completed a senior honors thesis on post-conflict urban redevelopment in Colombia and received Harvard's post-grad Shaw Fellowship to research public space and social integration in Belfast, Northern Ireland; Amsterdam, Netherlands; and Berlin, Germany over the course of a year. Alexander then worked on urban policy and land use issues at the Brookings Institution and Smart Growth America in Washington, DC, before attending Columbia University's School of International and Public Affairs to obtain a master's in International Security Policy. At Columbia, he focused on conflict resolution and post-conflict development, including through work with UNDP in Myanmar and Mercy Corps in Lebanon. Currently, Alexander is Special Advisor and Research Coordinator at American University's School of International Service in Washington, DC.
