As the Director for New Student and Family Programs in the Office of Campus Life, Karyn and the team support the successful onboarding of our new undergraduate Eagles and supports their families throughout their time at AU. She works to develop promote timely communication, build on-line resources and foster connections with campus partners through webinars and events throughout the year.
As the parent of a college aged student and a graduating high schooler she has a personal understanding of the challenges and changes for our families.
Previously, she had served AU as the founding Director of the Community Service Center (now the Center for Community Engagement and Service). For years, she has been working professionally at the intersections of student leadership, service-learning, national service, faith-based volunteerism, non-profit administration and family engagement. For nine years she was an adjunct lecturer in the Human Service and Social Justice department at George Washington University.
Karyn is a double Eagle, with degrees from AU's School of Public Affairs and the College of Arts and Sciences.
