Scott is an Air Force Veteran who, after completing 4 years on active duty, earned his undergraduate and graduate degrees using the Post 9/11 GI Bill®. During the first half of his enlistment he was stationed in Ramstein, Germany for 2 years where he developed a passion for military history and transatlantic relations. After honorably separating, he pursued his education and spent nearly 3 additional years going back and forth living, working, and studying in Germany where he developed professional working proficiency (C1 Level) in German. Originally from NC, Scott moved to DC after finishing his Masters Thesis where he became AU's primary School Certifying Official for Veterans' Education Benefits as the Veterans Services Coordinator. Now, as Assistant Director, Scott oversees AU Veteran Services and collaborates with colleagues across campus on matters impacting VA-Students and Veterans Education Benefits.
