Bio
Jarryd joined the Office of Development & Alumni Relations as an associate director in March 2022. In this role, Jarryd serves as the point of contact and manager for the undergraduate and graduate Alumni Admissions Volunteers network, who work to recruit and yield exceptional incoming classes each year. This network also engages with our incoming first-year students over the summer for anti-melt initiatives. Additionally, Jarryd provides strategic input and oversight for a portfolio of initiatives that engage alumni through lifelong learning opportunities. These programs engage alumni in the classroom as students, as well as participate as teachers, mentors, lecturers, and advisors in support of the student experience. Such activities include the Alumni Audit Program, the Alumni Book Club, and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute.

Prior to joining alumni relations, Jarryd served as an admissions counselor in the AU Office of Enrollment for two years. A graduate of AU himself, he is also an alumni member of the American University Chorus, a committee member of the AU D.C. Young Alumni Chapter, and on the leadership team of the LGBTQ+ Faculty and Staff Affinity Group. Off campus, you can find Jarryd exploring coffee shops around the DMV area and attending baseball games with his friends. (Go Nats!)
