Having experienced the transformational power of higher education in his own life, Joshua McPhatter is a proud student advocate and educator. He serves as an Associate Director for Residence Life at American University where he provides leadership and oversight on matters related to assessment, residential curriculum/engagement, hall supervision, and professional development.
Prior to coming to American University, Josh held various roles with progressive responsibilities at Washington State University, Eastern Michigan University, and the University of Tennessee- Chattanooga. Josh earned his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology with a minor in Political Science from Brewton-Parker College. He received his Master of Science degree in Higher Education and Student Affairs from Baylor University.
