Kernysha Rowe hails from Birmingham, England. She joined the Office of Student Conduct and Conflict Resolution Services in 2019. Kernysha's background includes over ten years of higher education experience including admissions, residence life, student activities, and leadership development. Kernysha received a PhD from Morgan State University. Her dissertation, "Crowning Glory: Exploring the narratives of Black women with natural hair and hair texture during the construction of professional identities as medical and law professionals", was awarded 2023 Howard Simons Outstanding Dissertation of the Year. It focused on the professional identity construction of Black women in medical and law school with natural hair and hair texture.
She also received a B.S. in Public Relations from Florida International University, an MBA from The University of Phoenix, and an MA Ed in Higher Education Administration from The George Washington University.
