Nicole Cox is a writer who teaches. She holds an B.A. in English from Yeshiva University and an M.F.A. in Poetry from Emerson College. At the University of Illinois at Chicago, she taught in the First-Year Writing Program for over a decade. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, Nicole ran pilot programs, served as Assistant Director in the Writing Center, led and participated in a university-wide writing coach mentorship program for students from underserved communities, and co-taught community-oriented writing courses. When she’s not doing any of these things, Nicole writes and publishes poetry, plays, and creative nonfiction. Her work has been nominated for a Pushcart Prize, supported by writer’s residencies, and awarded a Maryland State Arts Council Grant. Nicole loves musical theatre, all dogs, and the Oxford comma.
