Program Coordinator, Community-Based Learning

Meg Rego serves as the Program Coordinator for Community-Based Learning in the Center for Community Engagement & Service. Meg joins American with a background in service-learning from Villanova University where she facilitated the service-learning efforts of students and faculty through the development of partnerships between the University and Philadelphia public schools and nonprofit organizations. While at Villanova, Meg also promoted social justice education through teaching, training student leaders, and advising alternative break experiences to Guatemala, Louisiana, and Chicago.
From Rhode Island, Meg has a history of experience working with educationally focused nonprofit organizations, including an AmeriCorps year with a community development corporation, coordinating expanded learning efforts for the Providence After School Alliance and, most recently, coordinating volunteers for Martha’s Table. She is excited to be joining the AU Community.
