Shanza Qureshi has been working in international education since 2006. With extensive experience in academic exchange, postsecondary admissions, and school administration, Shanza is a staunch advocate for global education and for the constructive role international students play in the United States in broadening perspectives on campus. Presently, Shanza serves as the Associate Director of International Student and Scholar Services at American University, where she manages communications and programs for students, scholars, faculty, and the greater university community. Prior to her position at American University, Shanza lived in New York City, where she developed and conducted professional workshops on cross-cultural competence for higher education professionals. Moreover, she has managed EducationUSA programs and Fulbright outreach in Islamabad, Pakistan, in collaboration with the Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the U.S. Department of State. She continues her research on diverse issues confronted by international students in the United States and has presented her research, titled “Sociocultural Challenges of Fulbright Scholars: The Case of a New Metropolitan University," at academic and professional conferences including NAFSA: Association for International Educators.
