International Studies: PF (BA)
Felipe Herrera is a junior in the School of International Service where he is studying peace, global security, and conflict resolution with a regional focus on Latin America. His research has primarily focused on US foreign policy towards Cuba, justice and human rights in Cuba, and the social/political reintegration of reformed gang members in Guatemala. He hopes to relate his interest in global frameworks for justice and human rights to domestic legal issues in the United States. In previous semesters, he has worked as an intern for the Washington Office on Latin America's Cuba program, front desk assistant for Human Rights Watch, and has published a number of commentary, opinion, and satire pieces in The Rival AU. He also serves his peers as President of the SIS Undergraduate Council and Associate Vice President of the AU Student Government.
