Rachel Sawyer is the Operations Coordinator for Online Programs in the School of International Service. She is responsible for managing office-wide operations which are critical to keeping the online programs running smoothly. Some examples include overseeing data flows, managing departmental finances, supporting course scheduling, and supervising the office’s student worker. Rachel’s role in SIS also extends to serving on the SIS Staff Council and she’s involved across campus as an AU Connects facilitator leading conversations around issues of race and ethnicity in response to situations and events. In total, she has five years of experience in higher education both internationally and in the US. Rachel was a Fulbright fellow in Kazakhstan for one year and continued working an additional year after her grant period ended. Additionally, she recently earned her Master’s in International Training and Education from AU’s School of Education.
