Shannon joined the Center for Diversity and Inclusion in the spring of 2017 as the Assistant Director, Student Success and Transition after working as an Academic Counselor in CAS Academic Advising. He is responsible for formulating and implementing various transition initiatives, strategic direction for STEP, delivering educational trainings for the campus community, as well as collaborating with multiple departments aimed at student success. Before joining the American University family Shannon was employed at Howard University where he was involved in student organization advising, Greek Affairs, event planning, and student involvement and retention.
