Pre-Departure Orientation at AU

Students in the Mentorship in England Program will have a pre-departure orientation on American University’s campus in Washington, DC (estimated dates are September 17 and 18 – departing DC on September 18). The orientation is for students and parents and it includes an introduction of faculty and staff, academic overview, student conduct and discipline, expectations of students abroad, cultural assimilation, resources for students abroad, and the transition back to AU. Students and parents are responsible for coordinating their own travel to/from Washington, DC, as well as overnight accommodations for the on campus orientation.

Students living outside of the US at the time of the September orientation will either make up orientation in country or participate via Skype.

Orientation at BSU

Program staff and students will arrive in Bath by September 19. Upon arrival in England, students will participate in a multi-day orientation (September 20-22) led by BSU. The orientation will cover topics related to BSU’s academic and non-academic services and facilities. Fall semester classes and finals will be completed by mid-December. The travel date – back to the US - will be announced in the summer.
