Library Messages Marked as Spam

Recently, some emails sent from the Library have been incorrectly marked as spam by GMail. These messages are sent from the Washington Research Library Consortium. They alert students, faculty, staff, and alumni to due dates, fines, and book requests. While this issue is being corrected, all Library users are encouraged to check their spam folder and mark emails sent from the Library as "Not Spam".

Since American University student email accounts are contracted through Google, this issue affects all student accounts, as well as anyone who is using a personal GMail account, or who has emails forwarded from an address to GMail. The most common senders for emails from the Library are clsau, WRLC, and CLS Document Delivery. Please be aware that the Library does not send emails with attachments.

Users who are not sure whether an email is spam, can forward the message to, and a member of the Library staff will be happy to help resolve the issue. Assistance can also be provided by phone at (202) 885-3221 or in-person anytime the Library is open.

The Library will provide status updates through the official Library Twitter and Facebook accounts. Information about checked out items and status updates for requested items are available online through My Library Account.
