HIST-219 Women in America to 1850 (3) Course Level: Undergraduate

Women in America to 1850 (3) Traces the history of women in America from the sixteenth through the mid-nineteenth century, concentrating on the lived experiences of women as well as on the changing definitions, perceptions, and uses of gender. Particular attention is paid to race, ethnicity, and class, as well as to regional cultures. Additional themes include family, work, and religion. Usually Offered: alternate falls.
