Twentieth-Century America (3) Life in the twentieth century is different from all other periods of our past. To understand why requires an examination of the explosion of science and technology, the growth of government, America's increasing involvement in the world, the multiplication of protest and liberation movements, the new politics, and neo-Keynesian economics.
