2019 Leadership Retreat

Time: October 11, 8:15 a.m.–5:30 p.m.
Location: Mary Graydon Center
This year’s retreat is focused on the theme of student thriving. As the American University community works to fulfill the goals established in our new strategic plan, each one of us has a role to play in creating a high-quality student experience, supporting student thriving, and improving retention and graduation rates. You are welcome to review further details on Strategic Imperative Three: The Student Experience on the AU website.
We are pleased to host keynote speaker Dr. Laurie Schreiner of Azusa Pacific University, who directs The Thriving Project. The retreat will also incorporate AU student voices. We will spend the afternoon in smaller breakout sessions during which we will address various opportunities for supporting student thriving. The retreat will conclude with a reception and happy hour to allow for informal conversation with colleagues.
Please don’t hesitate to reach out to retreat@american.edu if you have any questions!
