We are still accepting applications. Students who wish to apply must submit the following materials:
  1. Online Application Please note that the application requires a two-paragraph written response to the question, "Why do you wish to participate in Community of Scholars?" You may wish to compose your response before beginning the application. 
  2. Transcript (A photocopy is sufficient.)
  3. Teacher Recommendation Form After submitting your online application, we will email you a PDF of the recommendation form to give to your teacher or counselor. Please ask your teacher or counselor to complete and return this form to you in a sealed envelope. Your teacher or counselor may also email the recommendation form to communityofscholars@american.edu.
  4. Nonrefundable $250 Deposit Checks should be written out to American University and sent to the address below. The deposit will be refunded if the student is not accepted into the program.

Note: We cannot confirm acceptance in the program until all materials have been received.
