A Discussion with EU Ambassador David O’Sullivan

Join us for a discussion and Q&A with His Excellency David O’Sullivan, the European Union’s ambassador to the United States. SIS professor Garret Martin will moderate the discussion, and Dean Christine BN Chin will provide an opening introduction. The Ambassador will take your questions about the state of EU-US relations and the future of Europe.

Ambassador O’Sullivan has been overseeing the EU’s bilateral relationship with the U.S. including political, economic, and commercial affairs since 2014. His diplomatic posting will end at the end of February. A long-time and distinguished EU official, he has served in a number of senior official posts in the European public service, including Chief Operating Officer of the European External Action Service, Secretary General of the European Commission, Head of Cabinet of European Commission President Romano Prodi, and Director General for trade. He is a graduate of Trinity College Dublin and the College of Europe (Bruges), and he holds Honorary Doctorates from the Dublin Institute of Technology and Trinity College Dublin.
