Sofía Pérez Gil is a Colombian scholar with a strong focus on feminist perspectives in international relations. When she started her role as a Visiting Scholar at American University's School of International Service in 2023, she was pursuing a Doctorate of Philosophy in International and Political Studies at Universidad del Rosario. Her research interests lie in feminist foreign policy, state gendering processes, and feminist theories of International Relations. As a Visiting Scholar at American University's School of International Service, she collaborated with Professor Emerita Dr. J. Ann Tickner. She also worked as a Commissioning Editor for E-International Relations, focusing on promoting gender, feminism, and women's human rights related content. With a background as an Assistant Professor at Universidad del Rosario, she taught research methods and gender and international security courses.
