Korea University’s Graduate School of International Studies (KUGSIS) offers one of the leading international relations programs in Korea and Asia. Since its establishment in 1991, KUGSIS has prepared students for leadership roles in governments, international organizations, multinational firms, international financial institutions, and NGOs. The curriculum offers a mixture of theoretical frameworks for defining the pressing issues facing the globe and practical tools required to address those issues. With one-third of its student body comprised of international students, KUGSIS offers a truly multicultural learning environment and promotes multicultural awareness and international engagement.

Students will enroll as full-time students for one semester alongside KUGSIS graduate students, and earn up to 9 credits toward their graduate degree from AU. Subject areas include:

  • International Commerce
  • International Development and Cooperation
  • International Peace and Security
  • Regional Studies
  • Korean Studies (focus on contemporary social modernization and economic development)

Language Requirement

Courses at KUGSIS are conducted in English. 

Students will also have the opportunity to enroll in Korean language classes.
