Cecilia Simon Adjunct Senior Professorial Lecturer SOC Faculty

Bio
Cecilia Capuzzi Simon is a senior adjunct professorial lecturer in the School of Communication. She has taught journalism courses at AU for 27 years, including Writing for Communication (Comm 200), Reporting (Comm 320), Feature Writing (Comm 325), Internship Field Supervision (Comm 291 and 391), and the master's level Longform Narrative Journalism (Comm 719).

Professor Simon works as a print journalist, most recently as an education writer for The New York Times. She wrote on health and psychology for The Washington Post, and spent a dozen years in New York as a magazine editor and writer for publications including Money magazine, Adweek magazine and Norman Lear's Channels magazine. Her articles have also been published in The New York Observer, The Philadelphia Inquirer, Psychology Today, The Washington Post magazine, Washingtonian and other national publications.

Professor Simon holds a master's degree in journalism from Temple University, and studied toward an M.S. in psychology from Johns Hopkins University. She serves on the Journalism Advisory Board of Temple University's Lew Klein College of Media and Communication, where she is an alumna.
