Bio
Dawn Morgan is an Adjunct Professorial Lecturer in the Film and Media Arts division of the School of Communication at American University in Washington, D.C. A writer and producer of both fiction and non-fiction films, Morgan received the 2016 Democracy in Action Award from the Alliance for Community Media for her short documentary "Election Day." Her first short fictional film, "Emily's Braces," earned the Bronze TIVA Peer Award in 2017 for Independent Short. Morgan began her multimedia career as a freelance journalist, covering the arts, media, health, and human interest stories for the Frederick News-Post, the Tampa Bay Times, Creative Loafing, the Philadelphia City Paper, Current, and more.
