Bio
Brian is currently pursuing his doctorate degree in education policy and leadership at New York University. His dissertation research is focused on the intersection of school choice and gentrification in Washington, D.C. and how low-income and middle-class gentrifying families make sense of and navigate the public school marketplace in the nation’s capital. Prior to this, Brian taught for seven years in Prince George’s County, MD, Washington, D.C., and Fairfax, Virginia in both traditional and public charter school sectors. Brian is also an alumnus of American University’s Education and Policy Leadership program, graduating in 2015 with his Masters. Brian is originally from Baltimore so of course he loves seafood and enjoys all things politics. He currently lives in Maryland right outside of Washington, D.C. and enjoys exploring all the exciting things the city has to offer!
