Bio
Kavita Mittapalli is an adjunct instructor at American University.
She has a Ph.D. in Research Design and Methodology (2008), a Master’s degree in Applied Sociology (2002) (both from George Mason University) and a B.S. in Agricultural Sciences (Banaras Hindu University, India).
After working at various research and evaluation consultancy firms, Kavita opened her own company in 2004 where she leads a staff of five.
She has authored a book, written four book chapters, published 12 journal articles, and co-authored over 300 technical research and evaluation reports since founding her company, MN Associates, Inc.
She is an avid data viz user in all her work. Her team uses R, Python and Machine Learning to conduct data analyses.
Kavita has also taught at various universities that include American, Johns Hopkins, George Mason, Argosy, and Walden and has either chaired or co-chaired 15 dissertation committees.
