Michele Smith is an adjunct professor in the School of Education. She has been a Prince George's County Public School educator for 26 years. Professor Smith started her career as a middle grades English/Language Arts and Social Studies classroom teacher. During her tenure in PGCPS, she has served as a high school assistant principal;curriculum instructional specialist; mentor teacher; literacy coach; and an academic resource teacher. Currently, she teaches high school English at the Academy of Health Sciences @Prince George's Community College.
She served as an adjunct professor in the School of Education at Trinity Washington University for 7 years. She has done consultant work for the Maryland State Department of Education, Pearson, and ETS.
Professor Smith is a National Board Certified Teacher in English.
Professor Smith is a graduate of The Ohio State University and attended The Bowie State University to earn her certification in school administration.
