Bio
Todd Friedman is a proud graduate of American University’s School of Communication. While at college, he benefited from the opportunities afforded him by the university and the Washington, DC area. In addition to the classes he enjoyed, Todd learned from 2 internships on Capitol Hill and served as director of the Kennedy Political Union during his senior year at AU. After college, Todd worked in the nonprofit and association sectors before serving as a technology consultant, where he gravitated to those moments when he was educating his clients to help them achieve. It was during that time that he made a decision to switch careers to become an elementary school teacher, which he has done since 2004. In reflecting on his own education growing up in Massachusetts, he says, “I felt that my teachers played an invaluable role due to the way they displayed a passion for their professions. I have such fond memories of the dedicated teachers who helped shepherd me through my childhood.” His enthusiasm, patience, innovation, intelligence, penchant for entertaining, and a little luck have enabled him to provide his students with not only the quality education that he enjoyed, but, hopefully, the memories of an inspiring teacher. Outside of the classroom, Todd enjoys biking, basketball, playing cards, and being a dad. He is also learning how to play the drums!
